Lamont Taylor, 42, was arrested Jun. 22, 2018, after detectives saw him dealing drugs behind a school, the Academy of Excellence, on East Price Street. Heroin, fentanyl and cocaine were found in his car after a traffic stop, police said.
Weeks earlier, Taylor was stopped on 1&9 when he was seen swerving. Police found 150 folds of heroin in his car and $2,000 in cash, authorities said.
Trials were held July 2 and a few days later. In both proceedings, Taylor was found guilty of multiple narcotics offenses.
When he’s sentenced in September, prosecutors will ask for an extended sentence of 10 to 20 years because of Taylor’s long criminal history, the prosecutor’s office said.
